MCCSN’s First 2023 Industry Mixer Made History

MCCSN held its first industry mixer of 2023, ‘ Bubbles & Sparkles’, on Wednesday, March 22nd.  As usual at MCCSN mixers, guests experienced a great opportunity to network, learn, and connect with fellow professionals in a relaxed atmosphere. As usual at MCCSN mixers, the guests enjoyed Sweets, Bites, and Prizes.

This MCCSN Mixer also had something special!  This MCCSN Mixer made history by beginning a tradition of March Mixers to celebrate Women's History Month, by introducing host and new WITH partner, Kendra Scott, and by showcasing four young women entrepreneurs with small businesses in our industry.

MCCSN’s Mixer host and WITH’s newest partner, Kendra Scott, is a history maker. She is a spirited supporter of women leaders and entrepreneurs. Kendra’s success, her accomplishments for women, and her desire to become part of WITH’s vibrant, diverse, and supportive community, made her a perfect fit for WITH and this event.  Kendra made history as the founder of the nationwide billion-dollar jewelry brand Kendra Scott which grosses over $300 million yearly and has turned Scott into one of America’s richest self-made women.

MCCSN made history too. Meet the four “ON FIRE” women entrepreneurs that MCCSN selected to be vendors at the mixer.

Danielle Rainey provided Décor. Danielle is the owner and lead designer of Danielle Monique Designs’.  https://www.daniellemoniquedesigns.com/, San Diego’s full-service Balloon, Floral, and Interior design studio.  She creates gorgeous and spectacular balloon décor for all events, homes, and offices. Danielle stated that “Our style is one of sophistication and elegance which allows us to collaborate with clients to create unique designs that are event and brand specific”. Everyone at the mixer was enthralled with her exquisite creations. They perfectly reflected Danielle’s belief that balloon design is truly an art form.

Amayah Purnell provided music. “DJ Amayah” Purnell is the owner of AP Entertainment Purnellamayah@gmail.com.  Amayah has acknowledged leadership potential.  She was a 2021 Changemakers Recipient and ASTEP Intern at San Diego State University where she is currently a student.  Her music captured and enhanced the mixer’s festive atmosphere, and her personality absolutely embodied her slogan “don’t forget to smile”. Amayah definitely “brought the beats”.

Olivia Rakowski provided photography. Olivia Rakowski is an entrepreneur in the creative and wellness industry at www.art-mvmnt.com.  Olivia has a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Advertising and a Certificate in Visualization and Design and brings an artistic and strategic approach to photography.  She says “I have my holistic photography infusing every project with intention.  It is my priority to create a fun, high-vibe and inclusive environment during each shoot while maintaining attention to detail in co-creating and capturing a client’s vision.” Everyone agrees Olivia achieved her goal at the Mixer.  She engaged with us and stimulated our enthusiasm as she composed fabulous shots of us enjoying (and working) the Mixer.

Angela Wong provided videography. Angela Wong is the founder and CEO of Start to Finish Media Company https://www.sfmediacompany.com/. She leads a female/LGBTQ/minority-led video production company that helps businesses achieve goals through video marketing and award-winning documentaries.  Angela, a San Diegan, says “At Start to Finish Media, we're all about empowering women in front of and behind the camera. Our team of diverse women and minorities prioritize telling their brand's story with heart. We make the video production process fun and inclusive for clients and crew.”   Angela supports Arts and Culture, Civil Rights, and Social Action.  MCCSN was delighted to have Angela’s video expertise at their first Mixer.

These women all embody the spirit of Women’s History Month and WITH. MCCSN is pleased to present them to you to add to your list of contacts. That is the goal of every MCCSN Mixer - to connect people who can help each other with their businesses and careers and provide opportunities for you to mix and mingle in unique venue settings and increase your “net” connections with people a little different from you who do different types of work.  Join MCCSN at one of their 2023 Mixer Series, this year – June, September, and a holiday mixer in December.  Stay connected to us for the dates of your next opportunity for “Women Making History”.
