Madelyn Marusa, DMCP, CIS Vice President of Industry Relations, has been with PRA Destination Management since 1983, serving a broad base of corporate and incentive clientele. In 1998, when PRA launched its franchise company expansion, Marusa began to oversee key areas of business development for the corporation, national marketing, industry relations & tradeshows initiatives. Today she continues to support the global sales team on strategic initiatives and projects specializing in the incentive group marketplace.
Marusa is an active leader and long-standing member of the Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE), and Meeting Professionals International (MPI) serving nationally on committees and locally as a past President of SDMPI and Site SoCal. She also is active in Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI) and served on the international board for ten years.
Passionate about the industry, she speaks at industry events, universities about the hospitality industry, destination marketing and supported early development of the destination management industry curriculum at San Diego State University. In her early years promoting San Diego to the incentive travel market, she served on various SDCVB committees and received the Gold Key Award from HSMAI in 1987.
Marusa was inducted to ADMEI Hall of Fame for Lifetime Achievement in Destination Management, has been honored with recognition awards from her clients; Maritz DMC 2013 Supplier Award, MotivAction in 2014, 2016 and BI Worldwide in 2016-18. This past year PRA honored Madelyn with the Patti Roscoe Lifetime Achievement Award and July 18th an annual day in her name.
Prior to PRA she was a planner/buyer for a California incentive company and early career experience included packaging destinations for Cush Tours, then a major tour wholesaler. An alumnus of SDSU she began her career with her internship in Journalism at the SDCVB and a tour guide for Cush Tours.
