Junior Tauvaa is an accomplished professional and strategic leader in the business events industry, currently serving as the Chief Business Officer at PCMA.
In his role, Tauvaa provides visionary leadership, overseeing key facets of PCMA's operations at a strategic level. He is responsible for guiding events, education, products, Convene Publication, Technology, and CEMA at a strategic level, aligning these areas with PCMA's overarching vision of becoming the premier platform for the Business Events Industry.
Tauvaa spent 20 years in Destination Marketing, first with Los Angeles Tourism Board where Tauvaa held several key leadership roles, contributing significantly to the organization's success. Lastly with Visit Anaheim as Chief Sales Officer where he successfully managed sales, marketing, tourism, events, and destination services. He also served as the Executive Director of the Orange County Sports Commission. As an association executive, Tauvaa held the role of Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships with Meeting Professional International (MPI) and the MPI Foundation, where he played a crucial role in growing membership, chapters and fostering strategic collaborations within the meetings and events industry.
Tauvaa also volunteers his time on leadership positions within prominent associations such as DI, EIC, ASAE, MPI, and Visit California. Tauvaa's expertise also extends to the technology sector, where he has contributed his insights on boards of several companies throughout his career. Currently, Tauvaa continues to serve on volunteer leadership positions at EventsGIG and San Diego State University.
Tauvaa holds a master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California Polytechnic University.
