I’M THANKFUL FOR MY FAMILY AND MY WORK
Two of the things at the top of my gratitude list are my family and my work. I’m thankful that my family knows just how to deal with my extroverted, eager, energetic, and very social personality. I’m grateful for my parents and my husband who give me love, guidance and support on my entrepreneurial journey. I’m grateful for my elderly family members who continue to keep me humble and focused on my “why” as I share their wisdom with the next generation who are our future.
And, I’m grateful for my work – doing all I can to connect people for learning and for impact and for doing good. Somebody said when you do what you love, you never work a day in your life.
Not true!!!.
My work being founder and president of WITH has taught me that when you do what you are passionate about, you WIll work. You will work really really hard, but your work will feel very very light.
And, when you do work you care about with and for people you care about, you will be thankful for the chance to do the work.
I know I am. I am thankful and I’m grateful for the opportunity to do the work I love because of you.
I’m thankful to those of you who came to the WITH 2022 conference. You enthusiastically received what we prepared for you and you told us you want a continuing and closer connection WITH US. You told others about your experience and led them to reach out to us expressing their interest in our programs too. I’m thankful to you.
I’m also grateful. I’m grateful for our advisors, partners, and industry leaders who supported our conference. I’m grateful for our clients and our team members. Every one of you shared your expertise, your experiences, your wisdom, your insight, your perspectives, and your resources. You shared your experiences with others and led them to reach out to us expressing their interest in partnering with us too. I’m grateful for you.
And, I am grateful for WITH. I’m grateful for WITH’s new opportunities and challenges. I’m grateful for women and men supporting women, providing mentorship and opportunities for collaborations in 2022 and beyond. When I think of all the positive relationships we have made and cemented this year and when I think of our future, I am excited about the opportunity we will have to make a positive impact on our professional well-being, our industry, and our city - together.
“Stay tuned for WITH 2023”. We will roll out WITH International and its year around program agenda. Because of our work, people will not only be talking about San Diego as a fabulous destination. They will also be raving about the fabulous women in San Diego’s tourism and hospitality industry.
The WITH BUILDS program component will improve women’s individual and industry wide economic development.
The WITH LEARNS program component will improve women’s skills and expertise.
The WITH CONNECTS program component will increase women’s collaboration, and
The WITH IMPACTS program component will increase women’s presence and prosperity.
That’s why I’m grateful. That’s why I’m thankful. WITH will have a focus on goals that truly matter. Goals that will help each other make our future brighter. We have work we care about and people we care about to help make our work lighter.
We will be known as WITH IT women : providing the great service, knowledge, enthusiasm, concern, care, camaraderie, and diversity that will reflect our community and attract business and leisure visitors to our city.
We know what work to do and how to do it. We know what resources we have, and we know what resources we need. And, now that we are WITH, International, an organized non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation, we have the structure we need to get more resources do our work with even greater success.
We are thankful for the opportunity to give ourselves and our city this great and wonderful gift and our gratitude will grow with each effort we make and every success we have.
